Casting Call for J. Drew
Mistakes (Poem)

Mistakes, just how many can we make
Fate, how many mistakes can make it change
Within seconds, minutes, hours or days
One mistake leads to bein a second too late
Ugh, where to go and what to do
Stuck in a ditch without a map or a clue
Of what direction to go or next move
Stuck, puzzled without the final piece
Steady tryna build a portrait with lost ink
Lost, forever or bound to be found
Head held high, but still fall to the ground
Down, nowhere else to go but up
Considerate, yet still not givin a fuck
What? Is this pro and con
Switches, always go off and on
Gone, but we’re still here
Quiet, but we still hear
Blind, yet I still see
Still far from the person that I used to be
Different, yet still the same
One bad move pulls back, like dog on chain
Like dog on leash, here I go, retreat
Far from the finish line, drive I keep
Held, back from what I want
She loves me, she loves me not
Hot, but cold as ice
Confident in the moment, shoulda thought twice
Big, or small - don’t matter the size
Its the risk we take due to our pride
Excuses - everywhere but not this time
Responsibility comes in and blows your mind
Bit, bit me back my way
And it all started from one mistake
